Mati Klarwein (1932-2002) was the painter's painter. A virtuoso whose presence on the New York art scene drew fans as diverse as Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Jimi Hendrix and Jackie Onassis. His pop-surrealist pantheon of religious harmony, sexual fertility and gender and racial unity gave visual expression the 60s and 70s. 

This stunning book presents 52 paintings that appeared on album covers, many commissioned by the artists themselves including Miles Davis for Bitches Brew and Live Evil and Carlos Santana for Abrades. A psychedelic treat.
