A very rare find. A lithographed book printed by the Printmaking Department of the Royal College of Art in 1975 in an edition of 150 copies. The book features 25 interpretations of heads created by art and print students of that time and lovingly lithographed by the RCA printmakers. The art itself is both a brilliant reflection of the times and a masterclass in lithographic techniques.

Some of the artists featured:

Derek Boshier: A hugely influential English artist and one of the pioneers of the British Pop Art movement in the early 1960s. He famously collaborated with major pop culture icons like David Bowie and the Clash and his pieces are held in world-class collections such as the Tate and MoMA.

Alistair Grant : A renowned British painter and printmaker who served as a tutor and later the Professor of Printmaking at the Royal College of Art from 1970 to 1990. His work transitioned from figurative art to vibrant expressionist abstractions heavily inspired by the Normandy coastline.

Metka Krašovec: A highly celebrated Slovenian painter and printmaker. She was the first female painting professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana and the first woman to receive a major retrospective exhibition in Slovenia. 

Holly Downing: An American painter and printmaker widely recognized for her mastery of the mezzotint technique, creating highly meditative works focused on light, shadow, and intricate drapery. 

Tim Mara : A notable Irish-British printmaker known for his highly precise screenprints using complex, layered photographic imagery. He also served as a Professor of Printmaking at the RCA.

This beautifully produced artefact features a dazzling array of printmaking techniques, die-cuts, texture papers, colour techniques all the way down to the pasted-in googly eyes of the front cover.

Condition: A few light indentations to the cover and mild sunning. The interior pages are beautifully preserved in almost pristine condition.
