A magnificent hand-painted Ghanaian poster for the 2001 film Arachnid. Painted on recycled flour sacks.

A huge piece of work in the classic Ghanaian maximalist style designed to draw crowds to mobile cinemas bringing entertainment to remote locations around the country.

Signed "Leonardo Arts 2004" with accompanying text "Zap Video Club, Behind Goryland, Hotel Odorkor." One of the most famous and prolific Ghanaian poster painter, Leonardo was born in 1960 and has had one exhibition of his work in Accra, Ghana in 2021.

Condition: Very good. Painting has been folded but the folds will smooth out with hanging.
